I reached out to Definitive Valuations to appraise my departed mother's house. They were responsive, warm, and professional. I was able to schedule much sooner than expected, make payment online, and received a thorough report shortly after. They also reached out via phone to follow-up. Overall, a high standard of service and value.

I normally do not write reviews and when I do its normally because they are good. This review is not a good one and I am writing it because I had to take the time out of my day to dispute a lowball appraisal on my property. The comps they used were so left and right, up and down when comparing them to my property I was really confused. The prices ranged from 280k-700k, some had no land, some had too much land, some houses were kind of close to the age of mine and others were 40 years older and nowhere near the size of the home. I get they have limitations on the area, but maybe zoom out a little more and get houses that actually compare to mine verse ones that aren't even close. In the end when the bank sent my response back to them it did come back higher but still not in the range of some other comps that sold. The fact it came back higher from what I found just goes to show they aren't doing their best. Heck even all the online real estate websites showed my house was worth more. On a positive note, they were very nice and respectable while they were here.
